Considering standing for election in May 2011? Everything you need to know...

THE EAST RIDING COUNCIL has arranged briefings to assist people considering standing as a candidate and candidates' agents in the 2011 local elections.

The briefings will provide background about the rules governing the elections and other practical issues that candidates will need to know. 

The briefings will take place as follows:- 

• County Hall, Beverley – 6pm, Wednesday, 16 February 2011 
• Goole Leisure Centre – 6pm, Monday, 21 February 2011 
• Cottingham Civic Hall – 6pm, Friday, 25 February 2011 
• Driffield Secondary School (West Hall) – 6pm, Tuesday, 15 February 2011
