A NEW POLITICAL FORCE in the East Riding has been launched according to an announcement on Community Radio Station Vixen101.
The East Yorkshire Independents Party is the region's newest political grouping and aims to offer a new choice for voters in local elections - including next year's elections for the East Riding Council.
According to the register of political parties, the Independents Party was registered in March 2010 and describes itself as 'bringing common sense to local issues' and 'putting local issues first, not those of any central office'.

Pocklington Town Councillor Tony Marron is acting as chair of the new party and says on the group's website:
"We are committed to the local community and not to party dogma. We are independently minded individuals who really care about the community we live in and we will work tirelessly to ensure that East Yorkshire rate payer's money and East Yorkshire Council's resources are used to benefit the local community and people. We don't have whips, managers or officials telling our candidates how to think and vote. We just have fair minded hard working people who want to make our community a better place to live in."Details on the new party, its current supporters, its policies and programme and the things that will unite its members, have still to be clarified.
But in the meanwhile people can find out more, including on how to become a prospective candidate, by contacting Tony Marron on 01759 305 161 or email info@theeyip.co.uk.
