Credit Union to get image makeover
THE HULL AND EAST YORKSHIRE CREDIT UNION (HEYCU) is to get a re-brand according to marketing and media website The Drum. Fox Communications has been commissioned by the Department of Works and Pensions to give the organisation its "image makeover".
HEYCU is one of 450 Credit Unions in the United Kingdom. It is is a not-for-profit co-operative owned and controlled by its 7,500 members. Its aim is to support local communities by opening up access to user-friendly financial services to everyone who wishes to benefit from them.
However, even for die-hard supporters it is quite often difficult to sum up an organisation that has both "credit" and "union" in its title. The "loan-shark-busting, people's banks" have long suffered from this identity crisis.
However, even without its new re-brand, it is still worth having a look at the HEYCU website and benefit from the organisation's expertise.
Perhaps a branch of the Hull and East Yorkshire Credit Union could be opened in the HU12 area - Hedon is one of the towns serviced by the organisation? What do you think?
